Product Executive


We are looking for an Product Executive / Coordinator to support the development and continued management of a ‘world class portfolio’ of propositions, products and services for our Aviation Safety training and consultant business (Baines Simmons). 

Supporting the Head of Product Portfolio, you will ensure that all products and services are commercially led, market driven, differentiated and focused on delivering practical solutions to key target audiences. 

You will: 

- Assist with market research and competitor analysis 

- Provide support on new product business case generation & assessment with data & client intelligence gathered & generated throughout the business 

- Assist with portfolio development initiatives & maintenance activities 

- Project manage the development/ launch of new products/ services by ensuring our consultants & internal teams work to project plans & timelines, organising, scheduling and monitoring progress to ensure targets are met 

- Provide support to ensure the effective launch & implementation of new products & services – e.g. writing 1st drafts of marketing & sales content 

- Provide reporting & analysis on the performance of the portfolio 

- Develop, execute & manage project plans for the development of new projects in a timely & cost efficient manner 

- Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure effective resourcing & implementation of new product development projects 

- Help to provide the sales & marketing teams with necessary product knowledge - product briefings & specification documentation etc.) 

- Monitor and act upon customer & consultant feedback 

- Assist to ensure the portfolio maintenance programme is fit for purpose & risks are appropriately recognised & actioned in a timely fashion 

- Work with subject matter experts/product owners to ensure new product ideas/ product revisions are appropriately captured & managed 

- Liaise with marketing to ensure that the development & revision of product marketing materials are on message & aligned with latest versions of products 

- Support with innovation & emerging technology research 

- Contribute to a live and up-to-date products and services database 

- Assist with ongoing analysis of the portfolio’s performance, (sales & quality) to inform prioritisation of focus & budget/ resource allocation 

- Support on additional department projects as needed 

Please note that this role is based at our friendly office based at Fairoaks Airfield. Due to the lack of public transport to this location, it is essential that the successful candidate has a driving licence and vehicle to get to work. 

What we are looking for: 

This role would suit a Training Coordinator, Product Project Manager, or a Marketer with copywriting experience. We are looking for: 

- Project management experience, ideally within a product management role 

- Excellent scheduling skills and an ability to comfortably and confidently ensure all stakeholders are keeping to project plan targets 

- Experience with copywriting or production of large documents such as briefings, reports or proposals which have a beginning, middle and an end 

- Excellent proof reading, communication and writing skills 

- Excellent written English and a fantastic level of grammar  

- Experience of managing projects autonomously  

- Experience in a customer-centric role, ideally within a Marketing function 

- Good organisational skills 

- A good understanding of customer perspectives 

- An ability to work on your own initiative, self manage and prioritise 

- An excellent eye for detail 

- Good, numeracy skills to enable management reporting 

- Excellent IT literacy – minimum of intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (this will be tested at interview) and the ability to use the Scheduling function on Outlook 

- An aviation industry background is desirable 

- A training or consulting background is desirable 

- Experience in market research and competitor analysis is desirable 

- The ability to get to and from Fairoaks Airfield for work
