Group Travel Consultant

 We are looking for a well presented, enthusiastic, and confident Travel Consultant, with excellent communication skills and flight booking experience (ideally group flight experience), to support the Senior Travel Consultants and Travel Manager in ensuring that a seamless service is provided to both internal and external clients.  You will be mainly booking flights for groups of anywhere between 10 and 2,000 passengers, so attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and be very hands on is essential.  You will have GDS experience (ideally Amadeus but not essential) and you will work towards proactively growing the business by increasing active client numbers via excellent client relationship management and through attending networking events and also hosting events with prospects and existing clients.  A bonus is payable for the first year new business is acquired, so there is earning potential over your base salary if you successfully introduce new clients. T&Cs apply.

What you will be doing: 

- Providing support to the Travel Division in booking schedule service flights (predominantly groups, from the initial enquiry through to departure)

- Achieving targets set for each financial year 

- Assisting in the smooth running of the department

- Providing a first-class service to clients and attaining feedback

- Assisting with the preparation of customer refunds

- Generating leads to increase the departments’ account portfolio

- Overseeing groups off at Gatwick and Heathrow airports to ensure all runs smoothly 

- Attending networking events and hosting events/meetings with prospects and clients 

What we are looking for:

You will be a team player who has good geographical and airline knowledge, with a flexible approach and an ability to adapt to change as required. Highly motivated and customer focused you will have the ability to multi-task, prioritise pro-actively and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.  You will also:

- Have flight booking experience – ideally group experience 

- Have GDS experience – ideally Amadeus and/ or airfares and ticketing experience  

- Be proficiency in Excel and Outlook

- Be hands on and able to juggle many tasks at once, prioritising effectively 

- Have a flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to participate in the 1 in 4 on call rota (time in lieu offered for any extra hours worked outside of the normal 37.5 per week) 

- Have excellent and confident written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain good client relationships and grow business 

- Have an enthusiastic outlook and a hunger to do well and learn fast 

- Have good numeracy skills 

- Have good commercial awareness  

- Have the ability to think outside of the box and on your feet 

- Have an extremely organised approach, with high attention to detail

- Be presentable with the confidence to meet clients and suppliers and to conduct sales

- Have an excellent understanding and knowledge of the travel industry and the changing markets within it
