Freight Charter Broker – Cologne

We are looking for a Freight Charter Broker to join our Cologne office to provide support to the Broker and Operations team.  You will take responsibility for the procurement and sale of charter aircraft and transport solutions of all types, and for the acquisition of new customers, whilst also providing excellent customer support to our existing customer base.

To be effective in this role you will demonstrate a proactive sales and smart procurement ability, resourceful aircraft location, creative presenting of offers, outstanding commercial awareness, insightful closing techniques and robust administration with the flight planning arrangements.

What you will be doing:

- Achieving targets set for each financial year

- Providing support to the Freight Manager in all aspects of day to day trading

- Maintaining contact and developing relationships with your clients and suppliers

- Assisting with client care activities and supplier relations maintaining active records within the CRM 

- Providing a speedy turnaround of new and existing client enquiries and tenders

- Providing an after sales service and orderly maintenance of paperwork/files

- Conforming to all company procedures as set down in the employment contract

- Managing and maintaining high service levels on demanding accounts

- Delivering high levels of customer orientated service

What we are looking for: 

- Relevant or related experience, preferably from the aviation or logistics industry

- Proven negotiating skills with an assertive approach

- Fluency in German and English (spoken and written)

- Ideally, good negotiation skills in another European language

- Commercially minded, with a service and goal-oriented way of working

- Good geographical knowledge 

- Effective teamwork and communication skills and the ability to work under pressure

- A confident manner with a personable nature   

- A flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to travel (mainly within Europe)
