Baines Simmons are recruiting for an Initial and Continuing Airworthiness Consultant and Trainerto take responsibility for ‘making a difference’ to customers across the Consulting, Training and Managed Services propositions. You will be pivotal to strategy delivery, continuous improvement of the portfolio and exploitation of SMARRT MAP™ as part of the Baines Simmons proposition, products and services.
Please note that the training academy is based in Fairoaks, Woking. So long as you are happy to travel, your location might be anywhere in Britain. Other national and international travel will also be required for this role so a willingness and ability to travel are essential for this position.
What you will be doing:
You will work closely with all internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful products and services as per the following key result areas:
1. Client Satisfaction
- Deliver against, manage and assure standards for technical delivery, reporting and investigating occasions where quality has been compromised
- Continuously improve the client experience through the Baines Simmons Quality Management System (QMS) and feedback mechanisms
2. World-Leading Proposition
- Ensure products & services are developed, maintained and managed in accordance with Baines Simmons standards and processes
- Support Product Development - continuous monitoring/ reporting of product health, industry best practice, customer feedback and competing products
- Support the development of products & services from ‘cradle to grave’
- Ensure all products are aligned with SMARRT MAP™ and are relevant, current & stimulating
- Ensure all products & services have a complete package that supports operations, BD, marketing and client needs
- Act as the Proposition Leader of an area of SMARRT MAP™, for a management system or Subject Matter Leader for an area of the proposition
3. Business Development
- Support BD with pre-sales meetings / calls to scope customer needs and propose solutions
- Feed back opportunities/ client intelligence in support of Account Management plans
- Contribute to BD and Marketing activity, content and opportunities
- Manage Relationships with stakeholders and promote collaborative working with colleagues and Trusted Advisor status with customers
- Gain understanding and market intelligence of current and future needs
4. Project & Programme Management
- Ensure successful and profitable client projects / programmes that deliver client satisfaction, reputational status to create further account growth
- Follow Baines Simmons QMS, procedures and standards to ensure quality output, continuous improvement and effective business management
5. People Development
- Provide technical development plan support to the Head of Consulting & Training
- Conduct peer reviews and manage technical sign-off of Consultants to deliver Baines Simmons products & services
- Provide mentoring and on the job support to Consultants in support of their technical, professional and career development
- Contribute to technical competence development by driving and presenting CPD sessions
6. Ambassadorship and Thought Leadership
- Represent Company values, strategy & purpose at industry, regulatory & client events
- Lead, participate in and contribute to working groups that support industry improvement and regulatory enhancement
- Challenge the industry to drive world-leading thinking in support of the strategy
- Monitor and communicate changes in Industry and the market that will affect the business
- Provide subject specific output to support the sales and marketing plan, e.g. Proposition support, Thought Leadership Papers and articles on their given subject
Be an ambassador for change, championing sustainable cultural and behavioural change
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- Knowledge and practical experience of Initial and/or Continuing Airworthiness; specifically Part 145, Part M and Part 21G – You may have some form of QA/CM background (manager, auditor, officer), or been a production engineer / manager, maintenance engineer / manager, worked in technical services, or been a technical rep (OEM to Operator) or regulator
- Ability to interpret SMS into Parts 145, M and 21
- An understanding of best practice with respect to compliance, human factors and risk management, and how to apply these in a regulatory environment
- Experience of managing the interface between regulatory domains (e.g. POA/DOA and 145/M)
- A passion to support Baines Simmons strategy to make the skies safer
- A desire to continually develop self and others
- An ability to build trust, rapport and influence
- A full UK Driving licence
- A willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally as required (reasonable mileage and expenses covered)
Desirable:
- Training, consulting and/or project management experience
- Training design and development experience
- A strong network within the industry
- Experience of working with the regulator
- A knowledge of supply chain management
- A qualification in auditing
