Senior Account Manager / Team Leader

Our Training and Consulting division requires an experienced, results driven Senior Account Manager (SAM) who will also fulfil a team leader role for In-company training and Large Programmes. 


You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have a track recorded of creating and developing pipelines to meet revenue targets. Reporting to the Head of Business Development you will form an integral part of the business development and sales team and be focused on driving sales within In-company Training and Large Programmes through the promotion of Baines Simmons products and propositions into identified markets and sectors. 

Working in conjunction with the Subject Matter Experts you will ensure that Baines Simmons is seen as a trusted advisor and a market leader within Aviation Safety Management.

Please note that this role is based at Fairoaks Airfield near Woking, and there are no public transport links here.  You will need the means to get to and from the office due to this – e.g. a vehicle and driving licence.  

Day to day you will: 

- Be responsible for meeting personal and team sales targets aligned to our 3-year business strategy

- Be responsible for developing strategies for driving sales growth across in-company training and large programmes 

- Be responsible for the development and implementation of the training sales processes

- Support the In-company and Large Programme sales team, setting KPIs, monitoring performance and conducting performance reviews

- Analyse existing approaches to the development of business, making changes where appropriate

- Work collaboratively with the BD and Sales Team, Programme Managers and SME’s to generate new business 

- Follow the latest industry developments and stay up to date on corporate competitors including attendance at networking events to generate new leads

- Identify sales opportunities as a result of market changes

- Be responsible for maintaining relationships with existing and prospective customers to sell the company’s products and services

- Be responsible for acting as a key contact for large customer accounts

- Be responsible for drafting proposals / tender documents to accurately reflect the need of the client

- Negotiate sales contracts with customers, ensuring their profitability

- Work collaboratively with the Programme Managers to ensure the solutions meet the current and future needs of the client base

- Work with the Consultants and Service Delivery Team to monitor customer satisfaction with existing clients 

What we are looking for:       

- Extensive experience of working within sales and business development 

- A proven track record of generating new business and achieving revenue growth

- Extensive knowledge and understanding of consultative selling 

- A team Leader with good people managerial experience

- An ambitious and target focussed individual with a drive to succeed

- Strong commercial acumen

- Excellent analytical and evaluation skills 

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills

- An ability to prioritise and multitask in a pressurised environment 

- A highly motivated and proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

- An ability to analyse data and identify new opportunities in external market trends 

- Demonstrable credibility when interacting with stakeholders at all levels

- Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
