Trainee Broker and Sales Support

Job Purpose Statement 

Trainee Broker involves supporting an established broking team of Senior Freight Brokers. You will assist the global broker and operational teams in lead generation and business development whilst alongside participating in a broker training scheme. to develop skills and product knowledge in order to be able support the daily business and eventually become an integral part of the trading team. If successful,  the Trainee broker will develop skills and product knowledge in order to be able support the daily business and eventually become an integral part of the trading team including looking after a portfolio of key customer accounts.

Job Accountabilities 

General responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Achieving targets set for each financial year
  • Providing support to the Teamleader and Senior Charter Brokers in all aspects of day to day trading
  • Maintenance and growth of existing client base
  • Assisting with client care activities and supplier relations
  • Speedy turnaround of new and existing client enquiries
  • Ensuring all new enquiries are entered correctly into Axis/CRM and updated on a regular basis
  • After sales service and orderly maintenance of paperwork and files
  • Research relevant industry data to create new sales leads

  • High level of education, flexibility and motivation
  • Competitive attitude, with a sales mindset and a desire to succeed
  • Customer focused with excellent people skills and the ability to form relationships with key individuals
  • Well organised and resourceful, with a logical approach to problem solving
  • Fluency in German and English (spoken and written)
  • Good negotiation skills in another European language
  • Business minded, with a service and goal-oriented way of working
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Good team player and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Confident manner with excellent social skills   
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel (mainly Europe).
