Our US office received a call late in the afternoon from a freight forwarder specialized in time critical AOG shipments. The parts were located in New York area and were urgently needed for a stranded Bombardier Global 5000 aircraft in Biggin Hill (BQH). We were able to quickly source a courier in New York who rented a car to do the pickup himself. The best connection into the UK to London Heathrow (LHR) was from Washington DC (IAD) but weather and road conditions getting to Washington DC were not ideal. Air Partner realized that everything had to run smoothly in order to catch the last flight for this day out of Washington DC. The heavy rain and wind had its impact on the time schedule but in the end the courier made it to DC on time and checked in with the spare part. The flight departed at 22:15 and arrived at 10:30 the next morning in LHR. After one hour in the taxi the courier arrived safely with the spare part in BQH. The technicians could directly start to repair their aircraft which was being chartered by one of their ultra-high-net-worth clients who wanted to fly to the Bahamas with family. Later in the afternoon the aircraft could depart on time with their passengers on board, heading to the Bahamas. Although there were obstacles Air Partner had to overcome the team showed the right attitude and creativity to make its customer happy and fulfilled the tight time schedule.
