Brexit brings more business travellers to Britain by private jet

Air Partner - 26 Sep 2018

Flights from Europe on the rise as European businesses take advantage of fall in the value of sterling. Air Partner’s figures show continuing business confidence in private jet travel.

London, UK, Tuesday 18 September 2018: More European business travellers are flying into the UK by private jet to take advantage of the fall in the value of the pound as Brexit looms according to Air Partner, the global aviation specialists.

Air Partner say they have seen the number of private jets chartered by European business travellers increased by nearly ten per cent between July and August 2018, compared to the same time last year.

The trend towards more business travellers flying into the UK comes as speculation mounts that a UK-EU Brexit deal could be reached in the next few months and a recent rally by the pound against the Euro, though there is continuing volatility in the markets.

Julia Timms, Air Partner’s Chief Marketing Officer, said: “Our latest figures seem to indicate there is continuing business confidence in the UK from Euopean businesses, with bookings for private jet travel increasing by eight per cent compared to the same time last year.

“We are also seeing continuing confidence in private jet travel as well as a subtle change in which sectors are flying for business reasons, showing private jet charter remains fiercely competitive for corporates.

“Even with Brexit looming on the horizon, Air Partner remains perfectly positioned to offer a very strong alternative to traditional scheduled legacy carriers, with premium options as part of a bespoke travelling experience, providing unrivalled flexibility to even the most demanding of business travellers.”

While private flying for corporates has traditionally been dominated by private equity companies, wealth management and banking, Air Partner has also noted a shift towards bookings for business travellers from IT, telecoms, pharmaceuticals, the music industry, oil and gas sectors, and the MICE market.

Air Partner has also seen an increase in corporate group charter for the meeting and incentives sector, especially for tech and pharmaceutical companies.

The top five UK airports being used by European business travellers are:

1.    Luton

2.    Farnborough

3.    Northolt

4.    Biggin Hill

5.    Manchester

Thanks to their decades of experience, Air Partner’s expert aviation planners are able to offer the right aircraft to business travellers in the UK, Europe and beyond to quickly and efficiently fly from one destination to another.

Air Partner also offers private corporate jet and high-end leisure travellers a one-stop shop with a wide-range of highly-tailored services, such as group charter arrangements, freight and the company’s highly competitive JetCard.

With 24/7 global coverage, no hidden fees, flight hours that never expire and fully-refundable account balances, Air Partner’s JetCard is still the most flexible private jet membership for the fifth consecutive year running in Europe and the USA, according to Conklin & de Decker, the independent aviation consultancy.

The Air Partner JetCard allows clients to choose from a variety of different jet options including very light, light, midsize, super midsize, large and global cabin private jets or even helicopters and turboprops (under separate arrangements).
