From Automotive to Movie set, Air Partner has got you covered

Air Partner - 12 Jun 2018

Air Partner was given the exciting opportunity to coordinate a freight charter on behalf of the Hollywood movie production “Red Sparrow” starring Jennifer Lawrence, which was released in cinemas in spring 2018. The client had a very tight schedule and required for Air Partner to ensure that key equipment required for filming was taken from Bratislava to London for next day filming.

The client had a selection of camera equipment, wardrobe supplies, and special effects equipment, all of high value that required to be handled with care. Air Partner had to source an aircraft that had the best capacity for the number of items which proved challenging because some items were unable to be stacked.

The Freight team decided that an ATR72 aircraft would be most suitable to meet the client’s requirements. In order to turn the cargo delivery around quickly, we met with the client straight after filming at 10pm where we loaded 5 tons of equipment. Once everything was loaded the flight was UK bound, where filming resumed the very next day.

Markus Rippel, in the Cologne office Freight team, was on the ground in Bratislava to supervise the loading and flew with the cargo in order to ensure a speedy offloading at the UK side.

He commented, “This was a very interesting charter project for Air Partner to be involved in. One that required exact planning so that no time was lost within the very short timings. This is an example of when military style coordination is required for everyone to be in the right place at the right time. Such an operation from the concert and film sector is an example of the time critical world in which Air Partner excels.”
