1. Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is a world-leading location for MICE events. In the latest International Congress and Convention Association rankings, Barcelona got the third spot globally. This year’s ibtm world event is taking place in Barcelona from 29th November – 1st December at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via.
Popular for: Press groups and car launches.
Local highlights: The city is famous for its wonderful buildings, in particular the works by modernist architect Antoni Gaudí. The beauty of the city and its surroundings make it a natural choice for automotive events.
2. Toulon, France
This beautiful Mediterranean French port town combines all the best aspects of coastal and city life and is a great location for corporate events.
Popular for: Press groups and car launches.
Local highlights: Wander through the old town, enjoy the ancient architecture of the Hôtel de Ville and then stop for a refreshing drink at one of the many outdoor cafes. If a sun-tan is what you’re after, head to Le Mourillon quarter for crystal-clear blue water and sandy beaches.
3. Marrakech, Morocco
It might seem an unusual choice, but Marakech is an increasingly popular place for business events and easily accessible from countries across Europe.
Popular for: Parties, incentive travel and jewellery launches.
Local highlights: Take yourself off to one of the many souks in the Medina to hunt down an exquisite piece of jewellery or furniture. You might even spot a snake charmer whilst you’re there! If you have the time, get yourself on a tour to visit the nearby Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert.
4. Dubrovnik, Croatia
Dubrovnik, located between East and West Europe on the Southern coast of the Adriatic Sea, offers a fantastic choice of hotels and venues for any MICE event.

Local highlights:With its winning combination of quaint medieval town and beach resort, it isn’t hard to see why Dubrovnik is a hot destination right now.In your down-time why not take the cable-car to Srđ, taking in the views of the historic Old Town, or head to Hvar island by boat.
5. Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon, one of Europe’s oldest capital cities, is a hugely popular tourist destination and also a great choice for corporate events.

Local highlights:Lisbon has a number of iconic features, including its steep hills, pastel coloured houses and impressive architecture. Whilst here, make sure you visit the Torre de Belém, the city's most photographed landmark, which is situated on the bank of the Tagus.
6. Salzburg, Austria
The beautiful Austrian city of Salzburg, situated just a short distance from the Alps, has a reputation for being an excellent MICE destination.
Popular for: Party charters, skiing trips and TV – Air Partner transported celebrities to and from Salzburg for the filming of the popular reality TV series The Jump.
Local charms: Rich in musical and cultural delights, Salzburg is much more than just the film location for the ‘Sound of Music’. Concerts take place all over the city, including in the impressive Mirabell Castle, Mozart’s birthplace.
