If you are visiting in the festive period, the Christmas decorations brighten the city there is a traditional Christmas market held in Piazza Santa Croce. There is also plenty to do outside of the festive season. Whilst the Uffizi and Accademia Gallery will still prove popular attractions, even outside of the main tourist season, museums such as the Grande Museo del Duomo and Palazzo Strozzi should offer a much calmer experience.
