We at Redline (part of the Air Partner PLC Group) are looking for an E-learning Instructional Designer and Developer to join our growing team and create high quality, online learning products. This is a wide-ranging role, providing challenges and development opportunities for the right candidate. Redline has a wide range of international clients and provides industry-leading SaaS services in everything aviation security. You will be joining a well-established team with expertise in e-learning and resource development.
For clarity, an average day in this role would be broken down as follows:
1. Scripting/Storyboarding (30%)
2. Content Development (30%)
3. Graphic Design/Animation/Video (10%)
4. PowerPoint Development (25%) 5. Admin (5%)
This role would therefore suit someone with a strong creative and graphic design background who is also passionate about writing content and producing high quality e-learning products.
What you will be doing:
- Working closely with subject matter experts to create new e-learning content following the ADDIE process (SCORM, animations, video etc)
- Creating bespoke assets as needed to enhance the content (graphics, animations, video etc)
- Integrating emerging instructional methods and technologies into e-learning
- Producing effective storyboards and scripts to a high quality
- Producing effective and interactive e-learning content using rapid authoring tools
- Taking responsibility for ensuring customer requirements are met and ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to
- Working with team members to meet the design challenges with a creative and agile approach, keeping within agreed standards
- Reviewing projects with other team members, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement
- Taking responsibility for providing technical expertise to assist in the area of developing new and revising existing e-learning courses
- Maintaining and developing relationships with existing and new clients
- Conducting e-learning administration and project management tasks, coordinating several projects simultaneously
- Quality checking, testing and QA of all online products
This list is not exhaustive and is a guideline of those typical tasks that you will be expected to undertake as a valued member of Redline staff. However, you will be expected to undertake any additional tasks which are deemed to be fair and reasonable and fall within the remit of the e-learning department, irrespective of whether it is listed above or not.
What we are looking for:
You will be a confident, highly organised and precise, autonomous worker who also has the ability to collaborate effectively and work with and assist the rest of a team. You will need to work with complete diligence and utmost attention to detail to ensure that all tasks undertaken are delivered to the highest possible standards. You will also:
- Have demonstrable experience delivering e-learning products on a Learning Management System (this is essential and examples will be requested)
- Enjoy writing content and scripting / storyboarding as well as creative design
- Be a theoretical, innovative problem solver
- Be confident in the use of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Camtasia
- Have a good understanding of training methodologies and adult learning principles
- Have a minimum of 2 years solid graphic design experience and be confident enough to manage multiple projects autonomously (a design task will be part of the interview process)
- Have a very high standard of written and spoken English plus excellent editing and content writing skills
- Have demonstrable experience ideally in articulate storyline and other e-learning design tools
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Be a collaborative designer, able to work as part of a team and to confidently share ideas
- Have excellent follow-up, time management and organization skills
- Be adaptable with an ability to engage with complex and unfamiliar subject matters (training will be provided)
- have a creative flair and an evidenced passion for design
- Be self-motivated and able to use own initiative
- Be flexible and willing to go the extra mile as required
Please note that due to the nature of our business, the successful candidate must be willing to undertake criminal records check and share this with Redline.
It would also be highly advantageous to also:
- Be educated to degree-level or equivalent
- Have audio-visual or animation skills
- Be experience with working on translations
- Have a demonstrable interest in trends on e-learning and learning development
- Have a demonstrable understanding of pedagogic approaches and attention to detail
- Be able to demonstrate development of your own skills
