We are recruiting for an Account Manager to support the Senior Account Managers and Travel Manager in ensuring that a seamless service is provided to both internal and external clients. This role is based within our friendly Group Travel department at our modern Gatwick office.
You will predominantly provide solutions for group scheduled flights but to compliment this primary role, you will also arrange client visits, airline visits and conduct new sales activity.
To be effective in this role you will demonstrate proactive sales ability with outstanding commercial awareness and a high level of attention to detail. Good geographical knowledge is a must and experience in a similar role is a serious advantage!
What you will be doing:
- Achieving targets set for each financial year
- Providing support to the Travel Division in all aspects of booking schedule service flights (predominantly groups) and ad-hoc hotel/car hire arrangements, all from initial enquiry through to departure
- Providing a first-class service to clients, always attaining feedback
- Maintaining, enhancing and growing our existing client base
- Assisting with client care activities and supplier relations – some out of hours work required
- Researching relevant industry data to create new sales leads
The team operate a 1 week in 5 (usually) on call rota (only after probation) and there will be some out of hours client/ supplier visits, but on the whole, is it a 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday role, although some flexibility is required dependent on business needs.
What we are looking for:
- Experience of working in a business travel sector and a good understanding of the changing markets for both clients and suppliers
- Ideally experience din a similar target driven, travel industry role where you have demonstrable examples of your success
- A customer focused approach with good people skills and the ability to form and maintain good relationships with key individuals
- A good understanding of booking group flights, ticketing and a sound knowledge of airline fare rules
- Experience using a GDS and airfares knowledge is essential, Amadeus is preferred
- A presentable, enthusiastic team player who can also work autonomously and be confident to meet clients and suppliers and conduct sales
- A good level of IT literacy, especially proficient in Excel and Outlook
- An extremely organised approach with excellent attention to detail
- An ability to multi-task, prioritise pro-actively and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- An excellent team player
- A flexible approach and an ability to adapt to change
- An ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
- Geographical and airline knowledge - essential
- A highly motivated and customer focused individual
- Good numeracy skills - efficient and accurate
- An ability to generate consistent GP for the department
- An ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally from time to time for client and supplier visits
