Air Partner brings its A-game to Euro 2016

21 juil. 2016

Air Partner, the global aviation services group, has been at the top of its game this summer, transporting nearly 10,000 passengers on a total of 62 flights to and from the 2016 UEFA European Championship in France.

Among those flown were four national teams: due to the knock-out nature of the competition, Air Partner had to be on the ball at all times, as travel arrangements for the players could depend entirely on the outcome of a match.

Since Air Partner has organised flights for football teams for several years, it has extensive experience in meeting the unique demands of the industry. It is crucial that the teams arrive at every match in peak physical and mental condition, so Air Partner’s Account Managers often work with clubs’ nutritionists to make sure that the catering is in line with the players’ requirements; if necessary, they can even arrange on-board physiotherapists.

As well as flying the footballers themselves around, Air Partner also arranged nine flights for members of the European media and several for fans from all across Europe. This included last minute requests from groups of Irish and Welsh fans who had not expected their teams to progress so far in the competition! Being such short notice, scheduled service options were limited, but Air Partner made sure the fans were able to enjoy the historic occasion in person.

Clive Chalmers, Air Partner’s Director of Commercial Jets UK, said: “Air Partner has an excellent understanding of the travel needs of elite players and the quick turnaround times required in competitions such as Euro 2016. We were delighted that we were able to use our experience and office network to fly the national teams to and from their games in comfort and style - as well as getting their fans to the stands in good time!"

Air Partner’s Commercial Jets division organises bespoke charters and aviation solutions for groups of every size on airliners seating 20 or more passengers. Clients include the sports sector, conference and incentive industry, Oil & Gas, tour and cruise operators, international conglomerates, governments, and humanitarian aid organisations. Private charters are used for a wide variety of reasons such as product launches, country evacuations, global sporting events, troop movements, crew rotations, emergency replacements and package holiday travel.
